"Training is very important to us because we are convinced that we are training the specialists of the future with our trainees," emphasises Managing Director Claudia Bikar. “Our junior staff are essential for the continuous development and success of our company. They bring fresh ideas and a zest for action, which drives us as an innovation leader in the metal trade time and time again.”
Ingo Miß, Head of Training at BIKAR, adds: "Our new trainees can expect comprehensive and practical training, supported by modern technologies and an innovative working environment. It is very important to us that they are involved in our processes right from the start and feel part of the BIKAR family."
Joint onboarding days at the start of training
The onboarding days for the new trainees at the German sites in Bad Berleburg and Korbußen took place at the Wittgenstein headquarters on 1 and 2 August to mark the start of their training. The varied programme, which the 12-strong team of trainers planned and implemented across all locations, included a detailed company presentation and factory tour to introduce the young people directly to the company. The first day ended with a joint dinner, which offered the opportunity to make initial contacts in a relaxed atmosphere.
The second day began with a briefing on occupational safety by the QM department, followed by organisational information on the training. The day was rounded off by familiarisation with the first departments that the trainees will get to know during their rotation.
Wide range of training opportunities
The Bad Berleburg site welcomed a total of five industrial and eight commercial trainees as well as one IT trainee. Seven industrial and four commercial trainees started in Korbußen, including Michelle Gruner, the 1,000th trainee in the IHK district of East Thuringia in 2024. The range of training occupations extends from electronics technician and mechatronics technician to warehouse logistics specialist, machine and plant operator, industrial clerk, and freight forwarding and logistics services clerk.
